1. About this policy

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. They can be first-party (set by us) or third-party (set by another service). Local storage is a related browser feature that keeps small values on your device in a similar way. None of these is sent anywhere automatically unless this site, or a service it uses, reads it. This policy covers both.

2. Cookies and storage we use

• cr_consent (first-party cookie, essential, about 6 months): records whether you accepted or declined non-essential cookies, so we do not ask again. Set when you make a choice.
• cr_visit (first-party cookie, analytics, about 12 months): a random visit identifier and a page-view count, set only after you accept, so we can recognise repeat visits to our own site. Removed if you decline or withdraw.
• cr-theme (first-party local storage, not a cookie, essential, kept until cleared): remembers your light or dark theme preference.
• _ga and _ga_<id> (Google Analytics cookies set on our domain, analytics, up to about 2 years): distinguish browsers and sessions to produce aggregate usage reports. Set only after you accept, and not used for advertising.
• _GRECAPTCHA (Google reCAPTCHA cookie, security, set on the google.com domain): set by Google reCAPTCHA when you interact with our waitlist or contact form, to tell human visitors from bots and block automated abuse. Loaded only when you use a form, regardless of your analytics choice.

3. How we categorise them

Essential. Needed for the site to work and to remember your choices (cr_consent and cr-theme). These are always active and do not require consent.

Analytics. Help us understand how the site is used (cr_visit and Google Analytics). These are set only after you accept, and you can withdraw at any time.

Security. Protect our forms from spam and automated abuse (Google reCAPTCHA, _GRECAPTCHA). These load only when you interact with a form and do not depend on your analytics choice.

4. Third-party and analytics cookies

With your consent we use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google, which sets the _ga cookies listed above and processes usage and approximate-location data to produce aggregate reports. Google acts as our processor; we have not enabled Google Analytics advertising features or Google Signals. For details, see Google's privacy policy and "How Google uses information from sites that use our services". We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Our waitlist and contact forms use Google reCAPTCHA (v2 Invisible) to prevent spam and automated abuse. reCAPTCHA loads only when you interact with a form, at which point Google may set the _GRECAPTCHA cookie and process device and usage signals to distinguish humans from bots. This is a security measure rather than advertising, and it applies whether or not you accept analytics cookies. Your use of reCAPTCHA is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

5. Managing your choices

When you first visit, a notice lets you accept or decline non-essential (analytics) cookies. You can change your mind at any time:

• Use the button below to re-open the cookie notice and update your choice.
• Declining or withdrawing removes the cr_visit cookie and stops Google Analytics from loading.
• You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; note that blocking essential storage may affect how the site works.
• Where it applies, we honour a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal sent by your browser.
